Reading Notes: Epified, Krishna, Part A

This week I decided to explore the tales of Krishna through the resource of Epified: Krishna (source)
Introduction: A man was born with many enemies who destroyed everyone in his family. He grew up and became a king. As king, he made many powerful allies and protected his loved ones. But no one truly understood that he was not a part of their world.
Kamsa: When Arjuna was born, another man was born who would guide the Pandava sons and bring an end to an age. Kamsa cruelly ruled a kingdom called Mathura. He was told that an 8th child would be born from his own cousin who would end his cruelty. He threw his cousin into prison and resolved to kill all of his cousin's children. When she was carrying her 8th child, everyone felt the light and purity of a god coming to earth, and her child was the 8th incarnation of Vishnu.
Vasudev Meets Yamuna: The father of the child, Vasudev, held his newborn while fearing the future. However, the guards and all who opposed them had been put into a deep sleep. They escaped Mathura, and were told to go to the river Yamuna. A large serpent emerged who protected them as the crossed the river on foot. They were met by the people of Nand, a cowherd, and they knew they were safe. A woman there had just given birth to a baby girl, Maya, and Vasudev traded the children and left with the baby quickly.
Durga Speaks to Kamsa: Back in Mathura, Kamsa woke up from a nightmare about great tragedy coming to his life. He was frightened at the news of the birth, and went to his prisoners cell. Vasudev had returned to the cell with the girl, and Kamsa felt no threat. The girl turned into Durga, who scolded Kamsa for assuming the girl was weak and told him his destiny was still in play. His slayer was already born and safe.
Putana: Back with the Nand people, the mother woke confused that her daughter was now a son. Her husband brought another boy, Balram, for her to take care of and news that Kamsa was slaughtering newborns for fear of his destiny. Holy men came to bless Krishna. A woman named Putana came. Both children liked her, and she became close to the family. But Putana was actually a demoness who stole Krishna to kill him with poison. But when the baby drank, he fed from her powers, killing her. Yashoda found her son. The Demon was sent from Kamsa.
Maakhan Chor: Later, Krishna showed more godly powers. He was known as a troublemaker with his brother. He became known as maakhan chor, which means "the boy who stole butter", because of his mischief. His mother defended her sons when people came to her angry, but always reprimanded him if he admitted to the accusations.
Krisna's mouth: One day Krishna's mom rushed outside to find her son eating mud. When he opened his mouth, she saw the universe in his mouth. She was scared, but finally came to terms with the fact her child was the Brahmand.
Dreams and Music: The people in Gokul told of strange dreams urging them to leave. They left and settled in Vrindavan, which was more green. The boys explored and loved the deep forest. Krishna started playing the flute. While playing, he heard his friends go silent by the lake. A poisonous snake Kalia had killed all of them. Krishna demanded Kalia to revive them, using his flute to command the snake.

Kamsa's Terrors: Yashoda wondered why the villagers put up with Krishna's mischief as he was growing into a young man. He repeatedly defeated demons, but they were repeatedly sent by Kamsa and the terrified king was running out of monsters to send.
The Govardhan Hill: Krishna connvinced the people to worship govardhan hill instead of Indra for rain. Indra was angry and sent terrifying thunderstorms to the people, who turned to Krishna, who lifted the whole hill and used it to shelter the people. Indra recognized his defeat and begged Krishna for forgiveness.
Radha's love: While growing up, Krishna became close to a girl named Radha. They loved each other. The other women tested Radha's obedience to Krishna, and while Radha drank the hot milk, Krishna bore all the pain and blisters.
